Hyderabad: Brigade Corporation, a player in the BPO space, has announced the acquisition of Hyderabad-based Webhelp Global Services in an all-cash deal.

The deal is a complete buyout of Webhelp’s client contracts, existing facility and 400 of the company’s tech support and customer service agents.

Brigade Corporation chairman and CEO Sri Dasari told reporters, “We will be adding 500 people to our existing strength of 1,400. After that, we will be adding 400 people every quarter. The goal is to increase to beyond 3,000 people by end-2005”.

The company is also planning a capital expenditure of Rs 30 crore on building office space in Hyderabad and Chennai, its two locations in India.

“Once we cross 4,000, we will look at a third location probably in the Asian region. The company has already acquired 4 acres in Hyderabad to build a 1,50,000 sq feet facility for Rs 25 crore. Brigade is the largest third party BPO company in Andhra in terms of size and revenue,” he added.
