Hyderabad: Third-party BPO solutions
provided Brigade Corp is on an acquisition spree.
The Chicago-headquartered company has recently
acquired a city-based BPO unit Webhelp Global
Services in an all-cash deal, Brigade chairman and
CEO Sri Dasari told reporter here on Thursday.
Brigade already has two BPO facilities, one
each in Chennai and Hyderabad. The acquisition of
Webhelps will help Brigade expand its presence in
the BPO space, Dasari said. While the company has
increased its headcount to 1,400 employees, in
terms of services the merger would facilitate
Brigade’s entry into horizontal such as tech
support, customer services and sales support, he
said. “Webhelp is basically into verticals which
are in line with our focus. The merger was a
strategic decision and it would help scale up our
operations in a big way,” Dasari observed.
The $80-million company expects its revenue in
Indian operations to touch $30 million this
financial. Meanwhile, the company has drawn up
plans to add 400 people every quarter in view of
the increase in its clientele following the
merger. “Committed business from existing clients
would required us to add 500 people in the next
quarter to the existing 1,400. The goal is to
increase beyond 3,000 people in 2005,” Dasari
The company is planning to invest Rs
21 Crore in Hyderabad for crating 1,50,000 sq ft
office space. The company’s next acquisition would
most likely be in Philippines as clients in US
appreciate doing business with BPO companies in
the far East, he said.
